A Place of Healing – A Voice of Hope.

Survivor Stories

Katie’s Story of Hope & Healing

My husband changed after we had our third child. We had a 9-year-old son, a 4-year-old daughter and a newborn. He would come home from work, furious at us for no apparent reason. Once, I asked about his day and he slapped me across the face.

Clara’s Story of Hope & Healing

My name is Clara and I have two children. I got married in India in 2005. We did fight, but not more than a normal married couple. His temper got worse, and our fights became more frequent and more violent.

Alyssa’s Story of Hope & Healing

I was with a man who was abusive. When we got married, everything was perfect. But he became aggressive when I was pregnant with our son. He would get mad, yell and eventually hit me. He continued to physically hurt me, so I thought about leaving. Where would we go? Who would help me raise my baby?

Amy’s Story of Hope & Healing

My name is Amy. I am a single mother and a survivor of domestic violence. I grew up in a middle-class family. My father was a serviceman in the military. My mother was a nurse. I knew their marriage wasn’t perfect, but they had a strong relationship.
